Scratch (Abrasion) Resistant Films. We have developed thin film coatings that can improve the durability of glass surfaces. They also make the surface more chemically uniform, so that subsequent layers in the PV stack can be deposited more uniformly. Non-uniformity is a major problem in semi-conductors and PV cells, making it more likely that the cells will degrade over time and reduce useful output.
